Mob Terrifying sand spirits

My idea is for a mob that spawns only during sandstorms and is VERY fast. Imagine you're walking through a sandstorm trying to find shelter when suddenly you see a monkey-sized silhouette further ahead. You approach and it adopts a threatening stance, sprouts several clawed arms and dashes at you! I don't have a scanner, but it would be a pack-hunting creature that looks something like a mixture between an insect and a mummy although it is rare for them to be seen clearly through the veils of sand they spawn in. They would have very high levels of speed but relatively weak attack and defense. The main danger they pose is in groups, due to them being highly disorienting. This would make them invaluable as pets, although it would be extremely difficult to catch one.

What do you guys think? Good idea, bad idea?

Edit: A larger group of them could be the CAUSE of a sandstorm.

Edit: The reason larger groups exist is because a matriarch is present. The matriarch would be quite slow, but have a moderate amount of defence and a very high amount of attack! But this is not the only thing that makes her dangerous, she also travels with an escort of 4-5 drones. BUT once you defeat her, the sandstorm settles and the area becomes much safer to travel! You might also get some egg drops from her that allow you to gain a pet sand spirit much more easily.

problem, we don't have spirits floating anywhere. Zombies I have no clue, but could be a maybe yes, having monster spawn fast rate which I have to say "No" reason why is because is that animals know take shelter themsleves as well, but zombies r slow in some point and they easily die in the desert which it will boils and heated them pretty hard and some the skin will crack right away. So each step they take, they r slowly turning into dust. So pretty much mummies r folks tales walking dead which if u dunno about them, they have their brains removed so, they really dead. I am not saying ur wrong and don't like this, but I am explaining its not great or good idea, its really mush up.

U need think before (don't use word or text b4 cuz they will mock u in bingo), make sure it would fit perfectly next time ok?

I don't think you quite understand. It isn't a literal mummy, it's an animal that looks like a mummy and is well suited for sandstorm-ish environments. Spirit is also an exaggeration.

There. I've tried to clarify a little bit more in the OP.

hmmm...Ok, thous bug wouldn't make their move in desert still, I know big like grasshopper (forgot exact name) come to desert and die, they do eat crops and eat the flesh...It kind of make kind of right to the picture, but I am saying about the sandstorm....Bugs aren't dumb going out the sandstorm that is problem.

They live in sandstorms because they are suited to thrive in sandstorms, not because they were just caught in one. they move and live with the sandstorms because it helps them capture prey. Plus, I've seen more nonsensical creatures pop out of the creature generator already in place, so I don't think Darwin's theory of evolution is nearly as prominant in this universe. :)

Ehh, you mean an insectoid monster that only appears during sandstorms?
Why not make the monster the CAUSE of the sandstorm?

These things also don't live on earth. They could live on a desert planet that is constantly covered in sandstorms, making their evolution more plausible.

Sorry if I wasn't as clear as I should be. I'm forced to write everything on my IPhone so I can't see the entire post as I write. I'll most likely try and redo most of my posts once I get a new laptop.

I like the idea of sand-spirits, whatever their sci-fi explanation.
Not everything has to be understood perfectly by science. Remember that they used to thing bumblebees defy the laws of physics when they didn't know enough. There are plenty of anomalies and things we can't explain yet in the world around us. Also, i think almost anything can have a sci-fi explanation. That doesn't mean, however, that the player should know all these explanations. Some things should be left secret, to create an atmosphere of mystery.

And what you wrote of zombies is only one explanation. "Zombies" is a very general term. A thing known as "one explanation" doesn't exist for zombies. There are many. And trying to predict what would happen under such circumstances is kind of ridiculous. Especially since this is a part of sci-fi that can be interpreted and explained in a ton of ways.

By the way, please revise and check for grammar mistakes before posting. It's easy to do because some(google chrome for sure at least) browsers support the same grammar checking option as does Windows Word. By leaving that many mistakes you are showing disrespect to others and wasting everyone's time trying to decipher what you wrote.

    You poor bastard.
If you want, I can try drawing a pixel version of your idea when enough ideas are in it?
