Boss: The Converter History: Basically the converter's origins were not known. They are entirely composed of machinery controlled by a brain in a tank. The brain of a converter was never analyzed, but some say it was human, while others say that it came from an old alien race. Basically, the alien, refusing to die, decided to transfer its brain into a container and a robot so it could live a lot longer. After a while, many others wanted this too and also transfered their brains to machines. However, soon, the first converter, named Optime Xax(Xax), wanted complete control over these new converters. During the surgery transfer of the brain to a machine, he implanted a chip in the brain so that the person with the chip would completely obey Xax. Soon, unaware of this new danger, millions of people transfered their brains to machines and became under the control of Xax. Xax then forced millions of innocent people to convert to the machines. All machines were drone like, and obeyed only Xax. Xax then proceeded to conquer a solar system. After hitting a motherlode of metals in one of the planets, he made it their main base because their parts had to be constantly replaced. He then conquered the entire solar system. He established converting sites and forced every living being into a machine. His army was in the billions, but he was no longer in the mood for converting. He then turned to piratry, raiding ships, and either converting the people on board, or holding them captive (and then converting them after being paid the money). Pretty soon, many people did not venture near the Xax system, and the Xax empire decided to extend its reach. One day, they caught a ship carrying a duke's son... and that is where the boss quest begins... Goal: With this boss, the players goal is the infiltrate the Xax empire, killing all converts as he/she goes, and locating and saving the duke's son by a series of quests. He/she is then assigned to destroy the Xax empire becuase of his/her superb skill. Then he/she infiltrates the capital planet, and then destroys the core of it, which is also the command base for all converts living alive. He/she completes a series of quests and destroys an amount of different types of converts, before he or she can face the boss, Xax. After defeating Xax, he/she is to destroy the core. There will be rewards for each quests completed, and the boss will drop godly loot (hopefully) Drops/Loot ETC items: Metal Plate: Used for crafting Brain fluid of Xax: Used for potions EQUIPMENT: Xax mount, Xax armor/weapons/tools Environment/Habitat The planet is Xax-x, located in the Xax system. The boss resides near the core, connected to many wires becuase he has to transfer commands to his minions Spawn Rate/Spawning Conditions Xax only appears when all the prequests have been completed, and a bunch of different converts have been defeated. He only spawns once every week. Health/Mana/Energy/Armor Health/Mana/Energy/Armor: Should be adept to be a medium hard boss, (unlike this other boss, who is very hard boss) Movement Xax walks around like a human, and has a humanoid shape, however, is made completely of metal and is 50 feet tall, and has many gadgets on himself. Firstly, reminds me of the cybermen from Doctor Who. Maybe you should try to change it in such a way that it doesn't look so similar. Secondly, this has a lot of quest elements? You're describing a boss, not a quest chain. You need to make the boss really special, otherwise it's just the last enemy of a quest chain. Thirdly, why are you advertising your youtube channel here of all places? That's hardly relevant, dude. No vote for me at the moment. This idea can be improved.
Firstly, this is not from the cyber men (I knew someone would ask that lol, but didnt cover that), these robots come in all forms, and are in cannister brains, people are not "forced" into a surgical conversion chamber, their brains are surgically extracted and implanted with a chip to control them. Also, these cannisters dont just stay in a "humanoid" body, they can be transfered into a vehicle to control/command a ship or a tank, etc (i believe the cyber men did not have that) Secondly, i could just remove the quests, and just flat out say that you must defeat the corridor of the converted in different forms, and then proceed to the final chamber, I was kinda hoping that there would not be flat out grinding, but actually some puzzle solving and parkour etc etc, to actually make it unboring when going to kill a boss (unless you are a boss grinder) Thirdly, i put my channel in one humble sentence in the bottom, you can just ignore it, its just for people that really like my idea, if you hate the looks of someone advertising, then look at those guys that put their twitch channel in their introductions, and plus, my channel will relate to starbound so its all relevant =D
No, sadly, even though it might be interesting, i believe it would be permanent death, because the Xax empire destroys your body after retreiving your brain, and also implant a chip so Xax can control it and not you, its probably just death if you fail ( i know, sucks )
well the self destruct could be removed or explode at a certain radius, so that it gives the player a chance to dodge it, it just gives a last surprise for the player and gives him/her the message "i wont go down yet!"
having siren noises and a giant rotating red signal light might be cool EDIT : you can quote multiple people in one post.
I believe hopefully that xax will suddenly go red in defeat and there will be this thin red line of the explosion radius, and then, a timer will show on xax showing 0:03-0:01, and then an explosion, and along comes the drops that xax will drop! EDIT: thanks autzome ill do it in the future =D
