I have decided To Revisit And Old Idea! To clear things up about the different side thing, looking/walking right or left have different sprited pictures one for left and one for right. The whole idea of this is that his right side is different that his left. So you need to strategies which side you want to fight and keep him facing that way. Example: The tricky thing about the Flipster is he can catch you off guard, he is classified as a mini-boss though. You could be walking by and see a large creature covered in magma, sneaking to it you pull of your water weapons to deal more damage. It turns and suddenly its a water creature! (You get the point, it poses as on thing and it's other thing is the first things opposite. (I had to sprite it, yes I know you are scared for life at my spriting skills. Definitely sounds awesome! Maybe have some sort of timer associated with his flipping of sides, that way explorers can wait for a particular side to kill him on. And there could be several variations of this boss as you were saying. One spawn could be the melee/ranged, but other iterations could be light/dark energy, explosive/energy weapons, flying/tunneling movement.
Since you find the mob's appearance hard to explain, you could draw a picture instead, it would benefit the thread by quite a margin.
Good idea although I'm not very confident about my art skills. We just has to different "classes" on each side, those who have made pixel animations should know what I mean.
