(No picture at the moment. I currently have no viable means of displaying this medium, right now i'm attempting to make arrangements with some friends of mine. However if someone is willing to draw a few concepts or make a few sprites that would be spectacular. )

Concept 1: Post Simulation Killing Machines.

"To understand the "Purgers" one must know where they came from. It is inevitable that technology, one way or another, will bring an end to civilization. Our robotic simulations we seeded across the galaxy proved this numerous times. However despite the massive wars, the total collapse of civilizations and the ravaging of time, one aspect of a simulation affectionately dubbed "Genesis" by us, their creators, survived. This aspect is what ultimately, sought the demise of simulation Genesis as well as the three other simulations Prime, Exodus and Star Fall. The "Purgers" are an elite force of machines deployed by Genesis to end the interstellar war between itself and Prime. The war that lasted approximately 201 standard years, ended in a mere standard month after the "Purgers" were deployed.

This victory signaled the beginning of the end for simulations Genesis, Star Fall and Exodus. From simulation analysis it appeared that in a final act of vengeance, Prime developed a memory virus that infected the majority of the "Purger" personnel during the final days of Prime's home world. This virus remained dormant until the "Purgers" were deployed to defend Exodus from Star Fall. To keep this report short, the virus was simple in design and direct in what it was supposed to do; To rewrite the memory cores of the "Purgers" to have them perceive all other entities as those of Prime's soldiers.

While the virus had a solid defense for vaccination, there is one thing that has always had me thinking, the virus was simple, almost too simple as it could have been easily detected, contained and cured by Genesis. But then I realized it, Prime played on Genesis' arrogance, it's belief that it's elite force were incorruptible by such petty things. This arrogance resulted in the annihilation of both Exodus and Star Fall simulations over the course of a standard year. Lastly Genesis was felled by the hands of it's own elite soldiers, still believing that they are defending Genesis from Prime.

Now, somehow the "Purgers" survived to this day. While a very pale shadow of it's former self, the remaining "Purgers" still pose a serious threat to the rest of the galaxy, even more so if they manage to regain their numbers. They must be exterminated, no matter the cost."

    --END AUDIO LOG--

TL;DR: Robotic simulations from the same experiments like the Glitch, made hyper lethal killing machines called the Purgers to end it's two century conflict with another simulation. While the war ended in a superb victory for the Purgers, the enemy simulation developed a memory virus to afflict most of the Purgers that altered their memories and perception into making them see all entities as enemy soldiers. This resulted in the destruction of 3 more empire simulations including the empire simulation that created them.

    --PURGER INCIDENT REPORTS--
This section is reserved for reports of Purger contact with other races, reports pending...

The Purgers are machines which every aspect of it is specifically engineered/designed to fight and win interstellar conflicts.

Physical Description: Purgers vary in appearance often because Purgers are often separated and specialized into roles on the battlefield. As such there Purgers the size of the average human being to colossal mecha that can shake a continent with every step. Thankfully the former are the most common variant of Purger and the latter are extremely rare if not nonexistent... But there is a general look to all of them, all Purgers are clad in a pure white, glossy modular armor plating while joints and other articular parts are colored a simple matte gray.

One thing that does stand out is the face of a Purger, all of them are very reminiscent of human skulls or at least parts of their faces are stylized to look as such, with deep pitch black eye sockets with multiple glowing lenses varying in color. This look however wasn't the same back during the war with "Genesis" and "Prime" meaning that it is very possible that this is the memory viruses doing. Also smaller Purgers tend to look more "organic" in its armor design and as the Purger gets bigger it changes from a humanoid, sleek appearance to a more "blocky" and angular machine.

Boss/Mini-Boss Characteristics: (For the sake of the game lets say that the only Purgers you will encounter are the size of human beings.)

Drops/loot: Most likely a ranged weapon that must be researched in order to be used. As well as some of it's armor which must be researched as well and possibly the memory core of the machine to make your own pet.

Habitat: You are most likely to find Purgers in spaceship wreaks and barren planets.

    Health: Low
    Energy: High
Armor: High (Purgers rely solely on this to protect them)

Attacks/Damage/Tactics: Purgers are primarily ranged combatants as melee has become an obsolete art during the days of simulation "Genesis". Purgers will often have multiple weapons attached to its arms and shoulders and each will be used in accordance with how far the target is. At long ranges, rockets, sniper weaponry or artillery. At mid range, machine guns or other automatic weapons and at close combat range it would use shotguns or something that would cause a knock back from melee attackers.

Weaknesses: As noted in the Health, Energy and Armor stats, your best bet would be to use armor piercing weapons or weapons that have or stack armor debuffs.

Concept 2: Floran Reactivated/Repurposed/Re-whatever War Machines. (In progress, not sure if suggested.)

Concept 3: Interactive Mercenary Corp (In progress, I'm sure this has been suggested already.)

Well this is what I have so far, this is still a concept in progress so please be gentle and thank you for your time in reading this.

P.S. If there is anything that needs to be clarified, edited or added please let me know.

Seems cool, that's an idea. Which makes me think of something, too: There should be various plot developments to why your homeworld was destroyed. That way it could have been floran fleet, or purger fleet, or master-race fleet or something.

More character development is always good.

Also, suppose purgers become bosses, would you meet them in groups or would one human-sized purger already be a challenge?

One will be a very formidable foe, this will be shown in the Purger Incident Reports, to show you how capable Purgers are. I already started writing a "report" between a human planetary defense force and a handful of Purgers.

Cool. This makes me think of Necrons, hahah, and a planetary force of veterans. Where did you get the inspiration?

I will admit I did get a bit inspiration from the Men of Iron as well as the Necrons.

Necrons are indeed awesome, I only hate them because I feel it is my duty to the Imperial Guard, hahah. >.>
But hey, I hope your idea gets in the game in some way, that would be great.
