After defeating the Floran Party quest and getting a tier 5 ship, a new character roams the outpost. From his appearance he looks like he is well-traveled, equipped with a high power rifle and tier 4 armor. Talking to him reveals that he is studying the gateway that is at the outpost and to come back to him later. Upon defeating shockhopper mk1, he tells you that in his studies, he located another ruin similar to the gate, but it seems different. He asks for you to investigate, giving you the coordinates. Upon teleporting from your ship's console to the location, you notice the ruin is much larger than the simple gateway that leads to the outpost. Upon entering, all you see are statues with strange engravings on them, bu once you pass the halfway point of the first room of the dungeon, the entrance gate is blocked by a beam that can't be turned off and the statues begin to move, revealing that the statues were constructs used to protect the gateway long after their creator's disappearance. Fighting your way through the constructs and solving puzzles as you go along, you find the central chamber, but before you can activate the gate in the central chamber, one more monster stands in your way, Verterrus, a construct significantly larger than your player (about the size of the Erchius Horror, but can move), with a ball of energy in its chest and a massive stone blade in hand. The boss only takes damage from attacks dealt to the ball of energy, but it is remains protected so long as it doesn't have to repair itself. It will start off slamming its blade to the ground, targeting the player when at close range and shooting beams of pure energy (similar to the erchius horror's beam) at the player when at a distance. In order to harm the construct, you must use the matter manipulator on his legs, slowly breaking it down. Upon the legs being broken, the construct will fall to its knees, dropping his sword. He will start to heal his legs and start doing haymakers with his fists and summoning constructs, but at this time you can damage him via the ball of energy. After he heals his legs, he stands back up and grabs his stone blade, but the player can repeat the process until the construct is no more, allowing the player to progress. After using the gateway in the central chamber, the player is transported to the ark and is also able to use the outpost gates to enter the ark as their reward.

On a side note, probably best to read this suggestion with this one:

This is an example of the construct in the main post. Hope this helps give an idea of what the creatures would look like.
