I hope this makes their day. They deserve it for their kindness. Also the cards contents were severely lacking. I was not about to take that sitting down.
Beautifully conveyed with sci-fi flare. You make me cry Musetrigger. Never cease to make me all emotional and crap
Oh my god wait No I do not accept penguin UFO orbiting gas giant Your penguin is in another Castle Solar System Serious talk: How did you do that?
Well first I lightly sketched Rad out with a pencil. Then I inked him in with various sizes of ink pens (pens used solely for drawing Manga), and then I sketched out Lily and Helix then inked them. That left the background consisting of the planets, the Penguin UFO, and the space ship (which turned out amazing imo) It took me around three hours or less for the whole thing.
To bad I utterly suck at Manga drawing... I'm not good with big pictures. I always mess up the view. ((Thread is now "How to draw like a Boss")
Hah! It always pays with light sketches. I'm almost no good with backgrounds. This one turned out alright. Also I don't normally draw ships. I honestly believe I should try drawing comics in Manga format, at least maybe a couple of times.
Manga format would be interesting, and like manga artists they would have a tutorial for manga beginners. It may be weird at first, but I not many would mine for something this good. Ships are not that complex being that they are comprised of geometry. But the space is important. Interior logic would help, and my suggestion is that you read just a little on interior design if you wish to get to the flow of ship building. Ever since Startrek, sci-fi spaceships are like moving architecture in the void, having modern styles yet functional in all aspects. For a military themed one, it would be wise to get into the lingo of Navy ships, especially aircraft carriers for that starbase, but most importantly submarines for that battleship feel. Submarines do feel like you are on a spaceship because of hull integrity, and not being outside as much (duh), and if comprised may kill the entire crew. I am assuming your crew mans a small ship, so it would kill everyone if hull integrity is compromised. For navy it is called watertight integrity. For outer space, something similar and maybe NASA may know. I think that Lili is the tech expert so she may be well versed in nuclear power, or whatever fuel source your ship runs on.
That's certainly a beautiful way to thank someone! If I had this much talent I would've probably done it as well.. but I don't ;~;
