Modding Discussion towels???

I was wonder if anyone would want a mod of towels instead of swimsuits when your character bathes? if its just me i might not even bother making it for myself. also i have a bad luck for telling if someone has already made a mod that i also want to make (cries) i looked and couldn't find anything similar but please tell me if there is something like this. . .

Ya know what? That's not a bad idea. You don't often wear swimsuits to spas.

I've never done this sort of thing before, but here's what I came up with. They're in standard blue (totally not because I don't know how to change it) blue because it matches the color of your pants.* You didn't specify male or female, so we get both! c:



Place in Stardew Valley > Content > Characters.
Backup your original farmer_base.xnb and farmer_girl_base.xnb!

After a little googling, I realized the color matches your pants. No wonder I couldn't find a file.

I considered a towel turban, but that would be a whole other kettle 'a beans.

Cute! You should totes share this on quantum's bathroom mod its perfect for it! It definitely matches and goes well together!
Do you think you can do like a deepburgandy wine and a peachy/pastel pink/cutesy versions? So want to be able to switch between each one with one of those xnb replacement mods I have yet to try out

 

Well, the color depends on what color your pants are from what I can tell. My character has blue pants to make it look like she's wearing overalls, so blue spa outfit. If you have pink pants, you'll have a pink towel/robe? I'm not sure if there's a way to make it function a different way. If there is, it's beyond my current knowledge. >.<

im not entirely sure if this is how it works but if you made the color in the character template something besides the default do you think it would stay that color?

 

I only know what other similar replacements have resulted in. But I can try and tell you what I find.

Okay, so I changed the file color to like a hot pink but left my pants blue. Got a blue swimsuit with an almost unnoticeable pink tinge. Left the file hot pink, made my pants white. Got a pink swimsuit. So the color you edit the file with can affect the swimsuit, but for it to show, you'd have to be wearing very light pants, if not white.

 

hmm there seems to be some kind of overlay with the color you choose and the files color. ahh i cant really think of a way around this... maybe if we added code to the bath house where your sprite changes to also change the in game color chosen so as to 'overlay the overlay' and then have it be reverse to the original setting when leaving

 

That sounds so confusing.

 

haha i know ill look into other options as well.
