Bug/Issue Two Switches, neither can host or join

Have two Switches, right next to each other. Local Co-op. If either host, it requires new farm. Ok great make a new game done. Other player cannot see it to join well that sucks. Ok then come back later...try to host with same Switch...only option is to make a new farm! What the heck. Farm created before is available in the single player menu, but not there for hosting. This happens on both Switches. Both games are up to date. Any help with this? Seems like from forum posts that perhaps Switch multiplayer stopped working for everyone in July.
