Updating a mod by replacing the mod zip?

Hi, I hate the guts out of steam; their customer support sucks ___ after I had a bad incident with them I vowed to avoid using steam as much as I possibly can. So basically I'm wondering that if I take out my arcana mod folder and replace it with the new version will anything corrupt? simple as that. steam doesn't profit off me I'm one happy camper.

PS. I wasn't sure if I should put this in support or discussions. If I put this in the wrong tab please tell me that too along with my original Q
