    nice ideas :)
    be aware that there are some fundamental changes to the Lua API in the upcoming Cheerful Giraffe, so any lua code may break.
    specifically, all the <tablename>.configParameter() calls change to config.getParameter() -- may be other changes, but those break a lot of custom vehicles and entities
