We Should Have More Medical Furniture!

Not sure if the devs are working on it as we speak or not, considering they seem to be making a medical crafting table, but I looked up the words "medical" and "infirmary" and didn't see any suggestions for furniture sets! You can get some of the stuff for a medical bay/infirmary from Apex Research Labs and to a lesser extent from other places, but when I made one with just those parts it didn't feel right and I just realized that a lot of stuff that would give infirmaries a more hospital-esque feel is missing!

For a good hospital set, we could have:

    -A Hospital Bed

-A rack full of medical equipment like a stethoscope and a blood pressure cuff

    -An IV stand

-A wall mounted needle disposal container

    -A box of rubber gloves

    -A jar of cotton balls

    -A jar of tongue depressors

    -Blue hospital curtain doors

-Chest, Chair, Cabinet and Table items matching the theme

    -Examination room bed

    -Examination room tool tray

    -Examination room sink

    -Examination room stool

    -Examination room cabinet

    -Surgery room bed

    -Surgery room monitor

    -Surgery room light

    -Surgery room cabinet

I feel like some stuff like this would go a long way towards making our infirmaries feel more legit. A vanity equipment set and Doctor and Nurse NPCs would be great with this, too. The objects are the most important part of this by far, though.

Don't forget futuristic medical beds with glass covers! We're talking about starbound here!

How about a robotic surgery table that heals twice as fast

By extension, I think they could also do with a dedicated doctor settler/merchant that sells medical supplies, to go with more medical equipment. All good space ships need a sickbay.

But... I thought we already had a robotic surgery table, stasis chambers, and doctor NPCs?

There's a mod that makes the empty Apex life support pods interactable.

Nope. The closest are the Interrogation Tables, Apex Life Support Pods, and the Scientist NPCs (That are incredibily difficult to find without FU because almost every furniture item that would allow them to spawn also allows Miniknog Researchers to spawn).

The Interrogation Tables look pretty robotic to me, and although you can't lay on it, the Rail Crafting Table might do the trick.

The Force Cell, found in Human Prisons, is literally a stasis chamber.

You can recruit Medic crew members, and the scientist NPCs spawn pretty frequently on snowy planets.

Medics aren't quite doctors, and Scientist NPCs practically only spawn in that case. Getting them as tenants is really difficult.

The dictionary says that medics are "A medical practitioner or student."

I agree that scientist NPCs are difficult to get as tenants.

And sice when are practitioners or students the same as professionals?

According to dictionary.com, a "practitioner" is "a person engaged in the practice of a profession, occupation, etc.: a medical practicioner." since the 1500s.

Merriam Webster says a "medical practicioner" is "a person who is skilled in the science of medicine : a doctor."
