I'm curious about who people are supporting for the 2016 election, so vote for your favorite in the poll, and you can also post why you think they would be the best president. Thanks for the feedback!

As a Briton, i know very little about american politics.
Donald trump is the latest meme, so of course i know all about him and his tiny, tiny hands.
I know Hillary is Bill Clinton's (Ex?) wife, and that lots of people do not trust her, but i don't know the details.
Bernie sanders seems like a nice old man. I hope he wins, but i don't think he's 'big' enough to win.
The other two i know nothing about.

I think it'd more accurate to say "The United States" in the title.

On topic, even though I'm Canadian, I'm still relatively caught up with American politics. I favor Bernie Sanders, he's consistent and an actually good person . Trump is a bigot and a racist. Hillary is a corrupt and contemptible person. Crruz is... Cruz. I've never heard of John Kasich.

I could expand on this all later, but probably not.
I think it's reprehensible that you'd force someone to serve, sometimes carrying a risk of death. All because they don't show the same patriotism or opinions you do. Not only are you teaching them nothing, but you're further fueling the hate against what your country has become.

Let this sink in a bit. The only nation with a 10 year conscription term (already a beyond excessive amount). Is North Korea.
Two years is already considered a bit excessive out of the nations that do practice conscription. A compulsory five or ten year service isn't just unheard of, it's unusually cruel and infeasible.

Finally, instead of your brand of conscription forcing all male citizens to serve. As is usual with conscription as a concept. You're forcing those who, again. Don't show the same patriotism or opinions you do. What civilized nation does that? What kind of person does that? It's practically unheard of, and it's plain barbaric.

It's obvious to me that you love your country. I ask that you read your nations civil rights and constitution. Throwing away the principles your servicemen have died to uphold isn't very patriotic from my perspective.

You assume a lot about me. Your countrymen too it appears.
Notice the underlined and italicized bit? It should be clear enough that my post focused on that when no mention of your flag appeared.

It you're not going to address this, that's fine. I've said my piece and have no intention to hijack the thread. Keeping in mind the topic.

Oh, right. I saw you'd shortened that quote and assumed that meant you were addressing the part you'd quoted. You probably shouldn't shorten a quote if you aren't focusing on a specific detail.

in britain we find it hilarious when america gets its panties in a twist over flag burning
we couldn't give less of a *$&% about our own flag

False. You've said I'm too young. That I can't "understand".

Just trust me when I say this is a familiar topic.
Nothing. I'd be protected by a nation that upholds fundamental human rights. That's more important than the value attached to a flag.

This is all I have to say on the matter. For now at least.

I like pieces of each candidate, but really none as a whole. Each has it's good and bad.
Can't I just vote for Reagan again?

Lets try to stop arguing over such fine details, guys.

I'm a huge supporter of Sanders, though. I've done phone banking for him and gone to a rally, it was a ton of fun. The crowd he draws in is so nice, too!

I'm hoping that whomever we have for Pres. there is a decent VP. We don't have a good track record there.
Bush Sr. either fell asleep or tripped over everything in his path.
Cheney was like the guy in Hot Shots. (yes, deer wear hi-vis orange vests)
and every time Biden opens his mouth, I can't help but picture the VP in My Fellow Americans. (Muskrat Susie, Muskrat Sam).

I do like Sanders, but is he the right man to handle socialism. We currently have a socialist President and it's not working.
Socialism does work....in the right hands.

Oh boy... this is a flame war waiting to happen...
But anyway, I'm a Hillary supporter. I wouldn't mind if Bernie got the nomination, but I honestly think that a) he doesn't have enough experience b) he doesn't really have plans for how to address the issues he's mentioned and c) I don't think he could beat Trump. He's a good candidate, and as a person, I like him more than Hillary. But when it comes down to it, I would vote for Hillary.

Unfortunately, I think you are absolutely correct about Sanders. Still, I like him best. I guess we'll just have to wait and see who is actually going to win the primary.

Hey, don't be so optimistic about presidents, and yes, he don't hates us (mexicans) but hates Mexico. He says that everybody out here in Mexico is a criminal lurking for it's prey, and it isn't our fault that people think that if they go to U.S.A. they'r lifes are going to be better from night to the morning. We shouldn't pay for YOUR wall, because as I sayed it's yours, not ours. Thanks for reading, this reply was written only for giving my opinion. Cya

I do think Sanders is the more likeable candidate, as well as the fact that he's from Brooklyn (I'm from Manhattan). But when it comes to his policies- especially his policies on guns- I think Hillary has the upper hand.

Not an american here, but I'd totally vote for Sanders. More likeable in every way, plus, Hillary is warmongering as hell and Trump is racistic beyond measure. Well that and I'm a socialist (tending towards a marxistic communism), and Sanders really do lead the most socialistic politics (but then again, they're all very liberal compared to what I'm used to.)

Another thing to consider, is we currently have a Republican House. So even if Sanders wins, The House isn't going to let him do much. Also, the Senate doesn't like any of the four candidates that are left, so they aren't going to allow much from any President. Let's face it, the President doesn't really have much power.
