Your Least favorite Planets

So what is your least favorite planet in the game? I would to hear what it is and why you dislike this planet.

I can tell you mine is the frozen Ocean. There just isn't anywhere to build, and I love building.

Also just way too much water for my liking.

For me it's the toxic planets. I don't really see the purpose of a planet full of toxic liquid with just a few islands, and where there's an acid rain most of the time, it's really hard to build on it. Even if I love the background and the wildlife of these, this is my least favorite planet.

The only planets I don't care for are magma ones. They don't have much use other than fish for the collection.

Toxic and magma are both pretty awful, with very little reason to visit. Ocean and frozen ocean have this problem too, but at least the liquid on those planets isn't deadly.

Definitely Magma, Toxic is a close second, followed by Midnight.
Magma and Toxic are just annoying due to being very hazardous, and I hate Midnight planets because they usually always have those odd Hive biomes which are just gross

Either Mutant, Magma, or Toxic. Magma and Toxic are almost entirely worthless, and Mutant is extremely ugly and pushes my suspension of disbelief even further beyond what most of Starbound already stretches it to.

Scorched/decayed, because the meteor strikes and burning down dungeons are annoying to deal with, especially if a meteor just happens to strike someone you painstakingly escorted from half the planet away. I'm also not fond of junk pile blocks filling up my inventory.
Also, magma (which should really be called lava, since it's all exposed) is nigh-useless, since there's nothing you can use those quantities of lava for in vanilla really.

Awww Hive is my favorite biome, and midnight my favorite planet.

I love Hive biomes, but they're kind of boring, and I wish they had a sub-subbiome or something, or maybe a couple of unique structures to make them less "find chests, smash everything, look out for orbides, repeat".

Sorry, I just always have performance issues on Midnight planets (I have an old PC), nothing against you though =3

On rare occasion you can find a Maggot man hut. So there are a few things just not many.

I've never seen that, nor is it noted anywhere on the wiki. And I can't find it in the assets either. Unless it's part of a mod, that's not real.

They aren't labeled as maggot man and it is possible that someone built it since it was on a server. I just thought it was natural.

Barren, or anything with meteor strikes

A few days ago I built an entire "Novatropolis" on a scorched planet. I completely forgot about meteor storms.

In Vanilla, it's Toxic Planets. They're bland, very annoying to traverse, and have few reasons to go there.

I would have to say barren and magma.

Barren due to it being flat. For me that does not have very many options for building.

Magma... Not overly fond of swimming in lava. That and lava hurts... I would not ever build on one, or at least nothing big.

Every planet type/biome needs a healthy dose of unique things to encourage exploration. Block types, furniture, plants, critters, drops, costume bits, etc. The risk of meteorites vs the sheer amount of unique and interesting scannable stuff and blueprints makes the Scorched planets/biomes worthwhile in my view. Midnight is... very borderline. I like the tone it's got, but it needs... a little more. Not sure what though. I kinda like not knowing what the hell is with the Shadow people and I'm not sure they'd be better if we know their deal. Hive too needs just a bit more, but honestly that's simple... give us Maggot microdungeons like the Alpaca have. Maybe more underground than overground. Make them a new NPC race.

When it comes to "reasons to explore", the latter three liquid-majority planets simply don't have it. Much of what you can find on Toxic planets you can find in less hostile biomes. Like, the glowy toxic waste blocks are about it if you want some more glowing scenery options. (You know I've not tried painting the glowy blocks. I wonder how that turns out.) The Blueprints there push it to borderline, but it still feels like there could easily be more. The Arctic Ocean and Magma planets have NOTHING outside of some unique fish and bugs, neither of which really do much. They might make interesting build sites for a particular theme, but ehhhhhn. They both need building up. Microdungeons at the very least. Toxic could use some genuinely unique stuff, more blocks or items.

Honestly all of them could use some regular full-size dungeons. I'd love to explore a decrepit Toxic factory. Holes in the ceiling where rain might get through, forcing you to find cover. Busted, rusted decor with blueprints for non-busted versions. A big magma processing plant. A floating crystal palace (perfect for reassigning all that Beta-build Crystal furniture). Hell, give us another NPC race or two in there.

I don't mind Barren planets, as they can make for okay foundations for big builds once you get your hands on the Terraformer of your choosing. But man, if I run across a Barren patch on another planet on a surface-crawl, I immediately warp to the ship, warp back to the original drop point, and walk the other direction until I hit the other side of the Barren patch, then move to a different planet. It's not even worth traversing via hoverbike, it's so dull.

Once again, I'd like Chucklefish's next big update to NOT introduce any new systems, but just better fill out the areas we have with new dungeons, new NPC races, new furniture, and a reason to even bother with some of those higher-tier liquid planets.

It seems like you already know exactly what you are looking for in new dungeons. If there ever is a contest for dungeons to be placed in the game I would be happy to see what you could build for the game. I really like the toxic factory idea and Maggot Man micro-dungeons.

Oh and new biomes totes need some more biomes and everything associated with biomes.
