Looking forward to seeing the final result, also hoping that the helmet will get a rework, it looks nothing like a 40k power armour helmet of any kind. Looks like Halo Spartan Armour combined with 40k Spehs Mahren armour.
Probably on purpose, as Games Workshop is infamous for aggressively suing anybody who uses their IP, including an unrelated children's book titled "Space Marines". You may want to just mod your game to have a more accurate helmet.
Look in your game folder, then go to assets/items/armor/other/Spacemarine. The files are in there, i ported colours over from another item set since the items do not spawn with their current colour settings, i followed the advice you see over on this thread http://community.playstarbound.com/index.php?threads/easy-way-to-spawn-items.36463/ Unfortunately it does not work on multiplayer since the chest does not appear to show up to other players, which is odd.
How did the spawned the chest??? Each time I tried, I only got a green cube (legs and helmet were okay though)
That's the default colours. That's what the colours have to be for the item to spawn, i think the devs put some scripts into play to try and prevent the chest armour from being visible otherwise, it spawns as a generic item if you drop it however and you are the only person who can see it, others will just see you naked unless you give them the updated spacemarine.chest file. That's not what he means. The "spacemarinechest" isn't spawning correctly, it becomes a green placeholder. I checked the code, the name, the spacemarine.chest file.... no idea whats the problem. It spawns the helmet and the leg armor properly, but not the chest armor. *Btw the sprite isn't 100% my work, its from a Cortex Command 40k mod, I just changed the colours to suit the armor set.
Ok, with the help of the log file I found that the spacemarine chest item has some augments that don't work. After editing that it spawns properly now. That accomplished, I made a bolter to go along with the armor (again not my sprite) It fires explosive bolts too
The armour looks good, but the helmet falls short in my opinion. Probably because i dislike Halo Spartans.
I hope to see this sort of thing as the official armour when the game releases, I would seriously love to go through this game wearing Astartes Power Armour and destroying everything with bolter fire.
After re-spriting the helmet and bolter, and fixed all the bugs and issues encountered, i've made it a mod release which you can find here.
If anyone makes a mod that reimplements this exactly (blue coloring, same helmet) tell me, I'd love this for my USCM character
I know this is an old OLD forum topic, but does anyone know anyone who is making a mod to bring this back? I'd love to wear it as a vanity option.
