Parallax Compression (FPS Improvement) 1.1

Improve game performance by compressing parallax images

    This mod intends to improve FPS performance by compressing all parallax images size.

    Instead of removing the parallax background like other mod does to improve performance, it compresses everything in the /parallax/images/ directory, reducing them to half its file size. The mod also includes Dracyoshi's Parallax Fixes.

    Compression from this mod has little to no quality loss. So you don't need to worry - your game won't suddenly look bad!

    This mod is a request from a number of users. Feel free to test them out and report if this has successfully improved your performance.

    Frequently Asked Questions
    • Why would you need an FPS boost?
      Because the vanilla images are not optimized, so I optimized it to 50%-75% of its size. It's a request from a number of users too.
    • Work on multiplayer?
      Yes. This only replaces images on your end so it will be compatible.
    • Compatible with Frackin' Universe (FU)?
      Compatible. As in, vanilla parallax images will remain compressed.
      However, images from FU might still run slow. I don't change anything from FU and have no interest in doing that. You might want to ask FU team to compress their images.

    You must get the author's consent before including this mod in a compilation.
    Mod Assets Permissions:
    You must get the author's consent before altering/redistributing any assets included in this mod.

    Works like a charm. A good alternative if you dont want to completely get rid of the background.
    An option that should be in-game, but alas, no such option.
