Accidently said no to pet

When Marnie asked if I wanted a cat, I realized I hadn't set my prefrence when creating my account. I saw the blinking question mark and I thought it was like an info button, and maybe I could change the color still. When I tried to click it, I instead clicked "no". I realize now - after making a similar mistake x.x - that the question mark isn't a button at all. I was so suprised when she suddenly left without asking if I was sure. Of course I want a cat! I tried talking to her and walking around town to see if anyone else had my cat! I played before, but accidently deleted my old farm. I really don't want to start again.

Is there anyway I can still get a cat without restarting?
