Modding Help How to make a thorn shield ?

sorry I'm a beginner in making mods and I want to make a shield that can be used in combat without using supporting weapons so please help with this

I'm not sure if you can add attacks to shields or not (possibly you can). But you can add a block to a weapon.
There is a special ability for broadswords named "parry" which works in a similar way to shields. Perhaps you could make a sword that looks and attacks like a shield would, and has the parry ability.

That would get you started anyway. And, I'm guessing with more work one could get even closer to what you want.

 

do you know how to set the parry time so that it can be like a shield - ?
-I mean parry only lasts about 5-7 seconds, while the shield can last as long as desired, what I want to make is a shield that can be used in combat without supporting weapons (second weapon)
so a Shield whose attack is weak but the DEFENSE is NO.1
