I think it would be cool if stardew had steam workshop Its a way for people who want certain features in the game to have them .
Dear God, no. I've had too many run-ins with mods and other user content where I can't use it because I only play DRM-free games (eg. GOG, Humble Bundle Inc., etc.) and the creator assumed everyone would use Steam. (In the case of GOG purchases like Stardew Valley, I don't even have a Steam key I could use inside a sandboxed VM to download the content so I could try to monkey-patch it into the DRM-free version before playing.) That's why there's a mods section in this forum.
