I wrote this as a "quick" chapter, not focusing too much on the details and just writing what came to me. Despite getting distracted a bit, I finished chapter 22!
Time to create a separate save to load from, just in case, yeah? Also, slimes, ewwwwww. Hope they've got a spare pair of trousers back home, these are SO going to be ruined...
Here's a couple of old pictures (from my SDV art thread) that I edited to capture the atmosphere of the end of this chapter.
I just started reading this, enjoyed the first 5 chapters. So Reb is thrilled when Demetrius says the valley is magical because of its plants? That's only the beginning!
Not a new chapter update (yet), but can I just say I've been planning future character arcs and backstory and holy crap it's so complex. Like Sinisterra levels of complexity. Some things to look out for in future: - Jodin, Ryan, and Summer's arrival. Jodin and Ryan are brother and sister, but probably won't arrive together. Summer will arrive with Kent. - The bad guys are not who you think. - Reb's visit to the Calico Desert, I don't know when that'll happen, but it won't end well. - There will be more death. - Some characters that are rarely paired will be paired, and some common ships will not work in this universe. - Love won't be simple or straightforward. All of this is subject to change as I work through the story, but these are some of my plans currently.
Maybe if they do a bit more adventuring in the mines Marlon and Gil can afford to have Robin do an upgrade. But since they've been bachelors this long it's likely that they wouldn't know what to do with a proper kitchen anyway.
Still haven't told you what they do for a living (it's not adventuring in the mines, that's not their main paying job.)
Chapter 26 is here! Doesn't feel as strong as the previous, but at least worldbuilding and some things are happening.
Reb is a good kid, here's hoping that they can retain that optimism and kindness. And well then, yeah, it looks like the Adventurer's Guild is good to go for cash. They DO have trees up there, I keep forgetting.
