WIP The Pokémon Project

Well, here's the project thread, keeping it in here since we'll most likely have to attach lots of stuff.
This post will declare management on sprites and overall progress, hopefully always up to date.
If you want to participate just reply here, you'll find a list of participants below.

We've got plenty of work to do, so I thought we might as well start with this thing.
We still need plenty of people working on it, I'll add the list of which spots are free and how many people would be (ideally) needed.
Also, we'll follow a strict plan, unorganized mod-development is just as bad as unorganized game-development.
Bad results will follow. And we don't want bad results, do we?

Those are the basics planned for the first release.
There are lots of other ideas I have saved up, like something similar to Safari Zones, but that's where we'll keep it for now.

So, what do I want you to do now?
I'll be working on the capturepods for starters, and as soon as the first sheet is finished I can go for the rest, basically.
First of all, everyone should declare a few spritesheets he'll be working on, so it doesn't conflict with other peoples work.

I'd like you to follow this guideline:

Keep one important thing in mind:

You are not LIMITED to this number and kind of frames.
I can always adjust the size of single frames.
So, if someone is going for a Snorlax, don't make it a mini Snorlax.
Same goes for all legendaries, except Mew.

I'll be awaiting your answers.
And, don't rush yourself, we don't have a deadline.

This sounds great. I'm relatively new to pixel art, but if you're still looking for artists, I'd be happy to contribute some spritesheets.

 

Sure, the last active PA just declared he doesn't have that much time in his other project, so I guess we can't do much unless we get a new one.

 

I'll be able to do more sprites once I'm not getting flooded with homework

xD How about an Eevee sprite first? And do you plan to add items? o:

 

Yes, you can playtest and debug your existing mods first, and then you can help with Kayuko's Pokemon mod.

 

I retreated from planning anything till we get at least 1/3 sprites done and active artists running, I'll just forget it.
But, what items exactly? o:
Like, berries? xD

 

Berries are something that will be especially common in the Gallavoir, so I hope not.

 

I'm sure even if there would be berries (I really don't see them in the mod right now tho, really, as you can't specify which items pets eat anyways) we could coordinate us to avoid confliction, not like we're never in irc together. xD

 

I'm not in IRC now.

But if you're lucky, you can get a Torchic that loves to eat Payapa berries.
