When I click on my character, restarts game

    All my data recently was lost, I managed to salvage the save files but now when i click onto my character, my game goes back to the beginning opening credits, and then the main menu...

      We'll need more info. Can you do this?
      1. Install SMAPI.
      2. Launch the game through SMAPI.
      3. Try loading the save file again.
      4. Upload your SMAPI log (see instructions on that page) and post a link here.
      (You can remove SMAPI later if you don't want mods, we're just using it to intercept the error.)
