Just to bump a (not quite dead thread), I am STILL taking requests (not commissions, mind you) for stories!
Anything goes, except for porn. None of that.

 

I'd like to request a story, but servant work never felt right to me, Also I haven't come up with a moderately decent plot idea for a solid month. I do, however, feel the need to applaud you for the work you've done so far, along with keeping this thread afloat in the sea of other threads.

 

(Even if it is servant work, someone's gotta do it. :/)
What'd you have in mind for the story?

 

Eh, might as well...

I've tried (and, unfortunately, failed) to create a role play based around the concept of being stranded on a moon, with no way out other than finding materials and Erchius crystals to repair the crashed cruiser. The team of 6-12 survivors triumph through major drama, minor romance, and impending bloodshed to fix the broken shop, and leave the moon behind.

I also tried a solo rendition of it here under "The Erchius Chronicles", with limited success (I have no motivation nowadays)

I would expect this to be a chaptered story, long enough to build tension and drama, and to explore the implications of being stranded with a group of people and nothing else. I would expect it to take someone a good few months to write from start to finish, and definitely NOT be published all at once.

I can kind of see why I didn't get very far: it's a serious undertaking, and I would have to put a lot of effort into making enjoyeable characters capable of interacting with each other in the absence of anything interesting.

 

that sounds exactly like my kind of thing! would love to do that.

how long (in word count) do you expect it to be? I could probably (at most) go to 20k, but anything around 10k is my comfort zone.

 

Make it however long you want! I think an 8k "pilot episode" would be good. How does one propose a collaboration? I think working with a partner would be pretty cool, and good experience to get.

 

one simply does it in a conversation separate from the thread, such as a "conversation" on the forums, or a skype chat!
Google Docs is what I will be using to write, so that's probably the bests way to actively co-write something.
